Hi, I am Matt!

Friends/Colleagues often say I am very animated so I went ahead and animated myself to make it truly official.

The most important thing I learned in retail was…

If you wear someone else’s name tag, you could just about get away with anything!!!

All kidding aside, being in retail I had the chance to truly develop my communication and people skills.

Working in a field like retail forces you to talk to customers and other staff on a regular, minute-to-minute, basis. Initially, as an introvert, I found this really difficult — but that’s what made working in retail extremely beneficial for me. It has helped not only strengthen my communication and people skills, but also really boosted my confidence and helped me come out of my shell.

P.S. I always wore my own name tag.

After graduating from Monmouth University, I took a risk and headed to Los Angeles to work in TV Production.

I would not change this experience for the world, as I enjoyed working on projects from the start to completion.

P.S. Don’t be too jealous but one episode of Jerseylicious that I worked on is in the Guinness Book of World Records for most quality haircuts in eight hours.

So yeah, I am in the record books!!!

Super Savings! Employee Bonanza Sale!

As the title reads, “I’m for sale!” but hey at least you could use a coupon before you make the purchase!

If I am purchased, I bring a lot to the table (in this case desk).

Ingredients for the perfect candidate:

Creative: During Covid I self taught myself how to draw/animate with the program Adobe Animate. (Don’t, I look handsome!) I also edit my animations with the program iMovie.

Innovative: At my time at Wakefern (ShopRite) as problem solver, I turned issues/pain points into solutions. When I first started in advertising, the department was using tissue paper to apply changes to our ads. I suggested we edit corrections on pdf files to make it easier for production department to apply our changes.

Collaborator: For any business to thrive collaboration is key. At Wakefern, I suggested my team should have weekly brainstorming sessions. It was a great forum because everyone in the meeting was encouraged to participate. After all, success is only as great as the team you surround yourself with.

Stand up: Quite a few times I performed at open mic nights. Quickly, you begin to realize in order to succeed you most often need to learn to fail first. If you could survive, twenty people not laughing at your set, you could survive any social situation with ease.

All I ask is that if I am performing, please DO NOT throw any sort of produce my way. Thanks!
